Just finished filming Red Hawk Commercial!

Woohoo!  Just finished filming a Red Hawk Casino Commercial and possible billboard.  Much thanks to Everett at Media Casting for setting it up! After two grueling days (not all of this is glamorous), we’re done!

Here’s some shots of the almost finished interior…

And because y’all want to see like a real set looks like:

Yep, it was about 45 degrees, 4 am and I was wearing some party dress. BRRrRRrrrr!

Steakhouse. Nuff said!

Finally, the obligatory picture of me and a new friend, Sierra!

My Foray into Serious Acting

As some of my lovely readers and friends already know, I’ve been focusing on acting very heavily.

I’ve updated in my IMDB with new headshots and I have an agency audition coming up (!!). Also, I’m back to taking classes with my favorite acting teacher, Kathy McGraw at First Take. Nothing is more useful then taking a small class with a teacher who not only pushes you but does it kindly and also has her own -active- experience in the field.

So what does that mean for Goldie Blogs You Better?

It means some exciting re-organization including more blog posts on my acting gigs :) I may not be blogging everyday, but I sure will try!

In the meantime, comment comment comment on my blog! subscribe to the rss feed and keep your hopes and dreams alive!

Me frolicing off into the sunset…

Wanna be an Actor? Learn the Business!

One of the best classes I’ve ever taken on how to really dig your teeth into the business of acting is run by Hester Schell right here in San Francisco (she’s best known locally for running her own casting network called BACN, a monthly subscription service with gigs all over the Bay Area as well as several workshops at the San Francisco Digital School of Filmmaking).

It goes over basics like picking the best headshot, how to do a demo reel, when are you ready for an agent and so forth :) It’s great to hear advice (however painful… “Goldie, these aren’t the best headshots you could have taken) from an actual Casting Director!

The headshot that Hester picked for me (she said I’m prettier in real life…)

She asked me to pass it along, so classes start Wednesday and details are below!

SM Ent Auditions aka Goldie with 14 year olds!

So a while back, I heard about the SM Entertainment auditions. They’ve produced such Korean wunderkid acts like BoA and Super Junior (less heard of in the West, but doing fine in the East). I’m in the process of finding an agent – and this appears to be the best possible timing.

The best part is the waiting room: booming music of previous and current SM starlets and nervous pimply 12 – 17 year old children (no I wasn’t the oldest person there, just the only one with real boobs).

The actual audition itself is a bit nerve-wracking. As an actress/model, I did a bit of a monologue and catwalked. At the end, I realized that what they really wanted was a pre-pubescent 14 year old girl or boy who could sing and dance (then why audition actresses and models!!).

Oh welly!
