I was lucky enough to catch a few words with Leah Ann Cevoli (voice of “Sabrina the Teenage Bitch” and many others on Robot Chicken). She’s even prettier in person and definitely incredibly intelligent and motivated!
Q: How did you get started in acting?
A: After graduating college w/degrees in Psych and Elem Education, I ended up working on tour with Poison. I assisted with Bret Michaels’ fan club. I helped make many a girls’ dreams come true who wanted to meet Bret after the show. So I didn’t start with acting at all, although, I was always involved in drama and choir all through school, and a little bit in college.
Q: Ah, so when you wanted to get into acting what was your path?
A: Well, I moved to Hollywood thinking, hey, I toured with Poison, I know a few people, so I’ll be fine here. Not quite that easy. I did start by booking bands and hosting the events I produced. I eventually MC’d over a 1000 + events; everything from charity shows, rock concerts, kid’s events and more recently, tradeshows and conventions.
Q: Okay, so what was your first acting gig?
A: I worked on Deadwood as an extra for two seasons and eventually got a speaking role on the third season! I loved the set of Deadwood because it was really egalitarian – everyone could talk to everyone else, there were as no segregation. I learned a lot from the principal actors, and adored working with exec prod. David Milch.

Q: Wow! How did that lead you to Robot Chicken?
A: Well, so here I was working my butt off as a non-union extra (4-5 days a week), for two seasons on Deadwood, and I met the executive producer of a new show called “Robot Chicken.” He actually friended me online, and we met for coffee soon after. (Always, take those random coffee mtgs–cuz you just never know!) Robot Chicken was in pre-production for it’s first season, and no one knew how popular it would become. A few months later, I got a call saying there had been a cancellation for a voice record, and could I come in the very next day. This ended up being my Taft-Hartley into the Screen Actors Guild. I found out later that Melissa Joan Hart had to cancel voicing “Sabrina: The Teenage Bitch” for legal/contractual reasons.
Q: That sounds amazing! What are you up to nowadays?
A: I still do voices for Robot Chicken (now in it’s 5th season). I’ve just created my own interview show “Livin’ On A Dream”, and I am one of the co-hosts for a new web-series called “Casting Qs”; both of these shows are premiering on Somebody’s Basement, a new web-distribution network, headed up by casting director, Bonnie Gillespie.

Q: Very cool! I know you’re big on Twitter – I follow you myself. Anything neat happen there?
A: I love Twitter! Neat things happen there all the time! Last year, I was tweeting with the Robot Chicken guys about Marvel’s comic book character Dazzler, next thing I know Dazzler herself, is following me on twitter! I decided to dress up as Dazzler for Comic Con last year and “she” coached me thru my wardrobe selection. We’re like best friends and I still have no idea who runs her account.
Q: Anything else you’d like us to know about?
A: I recently finished producing a short horror movie called Body of Work. It’s currently screening at the Memphis International Festival, Women of Horror 2 Festival, and the Cape Fear Festival (where it’s a finalist in the horror category). I also play Scarlett Rose, my own original vampire character I created a few years back - I was asked to host the very first Vampire Con in ‘09 as Scarlett, and have since made a few appearances at other events. I am currently studying with acclaimed director Katt Shea (Poison Ivy, Carrie: The Rage) .
