HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

To everyone out there – have a happy, safe, wonderful, fun, awesome, etc etc halloween! I’ll post pics of my cute adventures and feel free to tell me about your plans in the comments!

Cheers!

Napa + Cash + NOT working?

Hrm. On Wednesday, I got called out by my friend, Big Spence, to help out with some extra work for the Japanese version of Sideways.

Big thanks also to Randi Acton who said they probably wouldn’t use me (don’t want an Asian person doing a white Napa scene!) but plopped me in anyways.

They ended up not using me, but it was fun anyways :) And some pictures to prove it…

Cute extras! Emily is a makeup artist :)

They really do tell you to bring a lot of changes onto set…

Last shot of the day… broken nose anyone?

Crew member enjoying the AMAZING view!

Anyways, here’s to the next time I’m on set! Ciao!

VOTE Yes on Proposition 1!

With the myriad of other important issues out there (Vote No on Prop 8, Vote No on Prop 4, Vote YES FOR OBAMA) the rest of the issues can get lost (or just be confusing!).

Tonite, I went over to a “voting party” of a friend of Mel’s, where we all had our ballots and discussed each of the California measures and some of the local San Francisco measures.

The suspects – er, guests at the party

It was INCREDIBLY helpful to hear both sides of the debate by people who really care about SF and California.

Rohan, one of the lovely hosts for the evening – note the whiteboard.

One measure that hits close to home without me even knowing it is Proposition 1: Safe, Reliable High-Speed Passenger Train Bond Act for the 21st Century. This would SIGNIFICANTLY lower the costs to travel to LA (very important for a beginning broke actor…) – in fact, it would lower the travel time to about 2.5 hours for about $50-80 per way. That is WAY cheaper then last-minute (day before) airfare and WAY faster then driving my poor Honda.

I know this isn’t the sexiest issue out there, but consider it when you’re filling out that ballot!

Mel looking surprised ;)

Me and Rach and some delicious free cheese!

Cheers and remember to VOTE!!!

Just wrapped filming Lunch Break!

So I got the role I had mentioned earlier that was filming via the Berkeley Digital Film Institute. It’s a dialogue between very strict and focused Christian girl, Sabrina, *who I played* and her pregnant friend Elise, whom Sabrina attempts to convince to keep the baby.

First, off, mad props to the crew who were not only diligent and focused, but were also very funny and kind. Merci :)

Producers in action!

Second, DAMN THAT WAS A FAST SHOOT. The whole thing only went from a 10:30am (late) call time to about 3pm. I am super duper impressed that they are students and really have their shiz together. Much <3 to the director who also was really good at explaining direction ("Goldie, I need Sabrina (my character) to be even MORE condescending") and the CUUTTEEEE kitties (that i sadly did not get a pic of).

My costar, “Elise,” and the director, Brandy, in between takes.

Can’t wait to see final cut and see if the lil lady makes it out to the festival circuit!

How to eat a Pomegranate

Mmmm. . . There’s something about these antioxidant-filled jewels. Maybe it’s the fact that when I was in Middle School we did a short film on the Greek Mythology of Persephone. Like me, she can’t resist these delicious morsels.

Anyways, I realized with all the great pomegranate products out there (aka Pom), you don’t even need to go through the hassle of eating a pomegranate anymore…either way, I like them as they are – seeds and all – and here’s how to properly eat them, Goldie-style.

1. Cut off a strip of the Pomegranate rind (much like a slice of orange). Just make sure to ONLY cut the rind or else you’ll have a bloody mess everywhere ><

Everything you need. Pomegranate. Knife. Bowl.

2. Carefully peel open the side and pop off the seeds that are contained in the fleshy part. They’re kinda of like cooked corn, so be careful not to pop them!

3. Repeat cutting off pieces of the rind and popping out the seeds. When you’re done cutting up the rind, continue to remove seeds left in the middle fleshy part with your hands. (This is why I have to keep getting new manicures :P )

4. OH DELICIOUS BOWL FULL OF GOODNESS!!

YUM! The prize :) which I am enjoying as I type this!

So be like me and enjoy Pomegranates NOWWW! I think they are in season :)

P.S. If you boys out there need any other reason to start eating/drinking pomegranate stuff. . . consider that it aids in Prostate Health and decreases Erectile Dysfunction. Oh, and it’s good for blood pressure, sugar levels and other parts of your body too ^^
