Tourmaline Crystals, Dry Hair and Silicon Valley’s Kent Yu!
My favorite blowdryer of all time is the Bespoke Labs Featherweight Dryer.

My baby.
Why? It’s VERY quiet for a blowdryer, dries my fried hair in record time while not frying it more and it has crystals on the handle ><
Much to my surprise, it’s created by Kent Yu, a Silicon Valley kid!
Here’s an interview with him:

According to this:
http://www.my-hair-tools.com/sem-pro/
Hairart Company developed the T3 in 2004, by Jackie Yu and Doris Yu. Obviously, Kent Yu is their son, and Jackie Yu and Doris Yu have been in business for over 25 years.
The T3 trademark (according to http://www.uspto.gov) was registered by HairArt International, Inc. First used in commerce in 2004.
If Kent Yu developed the T3 dryer 4 years ago (2003-4) by watching his wife dress up, then who got married in 2007?

The 30 seconds spent on the “dog and pony” at bnet may be better spent on a google fact-check. Maybe this “self-financed” company that was profitable in a “few months” had a lot of help from Hairart (Kent Yu’s father’s company)?
Inspiring entrepreneurs through interviews is great, but let’s at least try to extract the fictional elements. A more fitting title: “Launching a Luxury Product with Loads of Help from Dad”. The true shame is the fact that he never once mentions his father’s assistance or involvement. I wonder if Asian Americans lose all sense of filial affection once they start believing their own PR…
Wow, thanks for the info, Terminator! I admit that I didn’t fact-check this one. It’s so hard to find true garage entrepreneurs these days - but to be fair, most people get help from friends and family (although not in the millions, perhaps?)
